Back from Florida. Boo. Wish I was still there. So here is the funny thing. I totally talked about that Golden Girls episode in my last post, and? It was on Friday morning while I was getting ready for the pool! Too funny! Anyways, but yeah, had a great time. Was very good to see my grandma as well as Jamie and Paul. But like I said, I wish I was still there!!
Oh, and Lost? Oy. Don't even get my started. Pleeeease do not have next season centered around Jack and his wanting to get back to the island. Or just centered around Jack in general. I really cannot take that. I want more Locke. And Sayid. And Walt! Walt was back! And why does the show need to start up again in February? I can't wait that long! But I thought that the finale was well done and maddening all at once. Which, I am assuming is the point. So is Jack a clairvoyent like Des? And Kate, is she with Sawyer? Oh, so many questions.
And although VM has ended, they are starting season three from the beginning tonight! And I am giving Travelor another chance. Oh and can't wait for Hidden Palms on the CW. I mean yes, it's the summer and I should get off my ass and do stuff, and I will. That is why I have TiVo! Still need to catch up on 24, although I pretty much know what happens.
Hmmm, feminist news? I need to get myself back in the loop but will report on it later. If you live in Chicago, Pride is coming up! And the Dyke March. Then mark your calendars for July 26, Chocolate for Choice!
Word.
One day, this might become a novel.

Miami is Nice...So I'll Say it Thrice!!
Okay, so I am actually going to Tampa, Fla., for vacation and not Miami, but I can't think of any songs about Tampa/Clearwater/St. Petes, so there you go. Plus I LOVE that episode of the Golden Girls. And speaking of, I was so sad I had to miss Blanche and her book signing at Borders last week. I really want to read her new book: "My First Five Husbands, and the one's that got Away." I think I might wait until it's in paper back though.
Anywho, so yes, yours truly is going on vacation with the fam. And to see Jamie and Paul! Yay! There might be a blog from the Sunshine State at some point. We shall see.
The Heroes season finale? Not as good as I thought. I mean I wanted a bigger smackdown between Peter P. and his hair of awesomeness and Sylar and his eyebrows that could give Sandy Cohen a run for their money! I did love that Nikki/Jessica (I forget which one is good) totally picked up the parking meter and hit Sylar with it. Oh and all parts with Hiro were fantastic. I am glad that they are probably going to introduce a new villian next season, however, I have my doubts that Sylar is gone for good. Hmmm.
Alright...later gators! :)

Your pencils are creating a health hazard. I could fall and pierce an organ.
So show of hands, or comments rather, who thought the Grey's season finale sucked? I did! Could they assasinate those characters anymore? I mean really. What happened to hard-ass Addison, who by the way, are we just going to get a "she moved to California" mention in the new episode since she is in that spin off? Which, Hi Taye Diggs. Love ya! Anyways, she didn't even get a proper good-bye. I didn't mind the Burke/Christina split. But that was about all.
The Office, of course, was good. That last scene with Jim asking Pam to dinner was great. I do hate where they took Jan's character, but it was sort of funny. "Bye Hunter, good luck with your band, don't let them change you." Priceless. And I was totally shocked at the end when it was Ryan who got the job! Oh Kelly. I wonder if we will hear here lament about it all next season. Oy. Unless the hire a new temp...
Going to Blue Water Grill tonight for dinner for my sister's b-day (hi Peppers!). I have heard mixed things about it but mostly good, so I am excited! I bought two possible new shirts/dresses for this weekend. Not sure if I am keeping both or just one. I didn't feel like trying on.
Alrighty, I think I might go see if the Chanel ballet flats I want are on eBay in my size.

Spark Rocker With Your Dirty Eyes
Happy Birthday Missy!
Blah. I'm annoyed with various people today have been this whole week. Anyways, Lost was okay last night, pretty much just a build up to the two hour season finale! Which, is apparently Jack-centered, but there better be a lot of Locke and Sayid! And also, damn you show for making me cry, especially since it was during all the Charlie/Claire moments. But I really really hope that they also explain who those glamazon gun women in the Looking Glass station are! Looks like they are going to give ol' Chollie a beating next week.
Moving on, busy weekend this week...have to get in gear with making my dad's scrapbook. I don't know how people make one for everything. They cost a fortune (not that my dad is not worth it!) and seem like a big undertaking! But I will get help from my sister this weekend. I totally went over board on the stickers and doo-dads for it but I couldn't help it. They have so much fun stuff!
Okay, this is even boring me! Office finale tonight! Will watch after my NOW meeting! Huzzah!

"This town is like one big outpatient mental institution"
Tonight is the series finale of Gilmore Girls. The seventh and final season. And while I did not start watching this show at the very beginning, however, thanks to ABC family I have actually seen them all, I am very sad. It is such a great show. And the pairing with Veronica Mars was a perfect Tuesday night. Anyways, here is one of my favorite lines/scenes...it's from way in the beginning when Miss Rory Gilmore first gets into Chilton:
Rory: Mom?
Lorelai: Oh.
Rory: You're happy.
Lorelai: Yeah.
Rory: Did you do something slutty?
Lorelai: I'm not that happy.
Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel had such great chemistry together. And the grandparents. Oh Richard and Emily, how you made the show. Actually I will miss everyone in Stars Hollow. Even Taylor! So here's to 7 great seasons of Gilmore Girls.
Now...what should I start watching on Tuesday nights. Well, I have all summer to figure that out once the new shows are announced. When is that show about Palm Beach starting? Or is that just for summer? Yes, I know I could so something else besides watch tv (which I do between working out and NOW things), but what's the fun in that?
So, the weekend was fun...just a reminder to everyone please please PLEASE support local business, especially Women and Children First (a bookstore) on Clark in Andersonville. So next time you need to buy a book...think independent!! Totally the way to go. They have an annual book sale in the summer so more about that when I know the date. Also, they will be needing volunteers to help them count books sometime in August, so also, more info on that!
Right. Time to go. TTFN.

Nothing but Pennies in my Pocket
Is it a problem that I really want the silver metallic Gucci bag that is in the window of the Gucci store right now? It's only $1040! I mean I do have a silver bag, but it was $12 and from a vintage store that also sells hamburger pillows and skull showlaces. Anyone wanna buy me the bag? Seriously.
Anyways...Lost was super creepy last night. Like back to it's old tricks of season one. I know that a lot of people are more concerned with the Losties and learning more about them, but I am definately all about finding out more about Ben, the others, the hostiles, and the Dharma Initiative, which we got a little bit last night. So I guess the Dharma people weren't all that bad...considering they were trying to live in a society to do experiments that would ultimately lead to world peace, and we are to believe that they were all a bunch if free-lovin hippies, however they were then annihilated by the "hostiles" that are apparently native to the island, including Richard, our fun-loving eyeliner wearin' Other. I am pretty sure he is wearing MAC brand in Carbon. He has aged well though. Or not aged at all. Something is rotten on Craphole Island! My question is, so if the natives are indeed natives, then wouldn't they have tried to kill off the DI people before they built their little village and bunkers and schools and such? Or are the "natives" part of an earlier Dharma experiment gone wrong? Or did they just want to wait until Dharma was established on the island before they "purged" them? And Ben is totally deliciously evil. That whole scene with him and Locke and "Jacob" was scary! I am a wimp though. But still...I hope we get more explanation of Jacob in the next two episodes. Like is it really future Ben or Locke or Jack? Or is it Alvar Hanso? Or none of the above? Or the guy with the three toes? Or Walt? What?!?!
Anyways, I gotta go. More later perhaps!

Do you take sugar...one lump or two?
Yikes. I have not written in forever. Not good if I want to try and reach my goal of Internet It Girl status! I wish I had more exciting things to report like I parties with Drew Barrymore or Cory Kennedy at Coachella, but alas, I did not. So anyways, Friday night I went over to Jess' for gyros and a movie! We watched "Notes on a Scandal." It was super disturbing/creepy, but really good. Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchette were excellent. And Cate B was beyond beautiful. I mean I know she normally is, but Jess and I were really taken aback with her beauty in this movie. I totally had no idea what it was actually about, because from the trailors, you are led to believe that Cate and Judi are having some sort of love affair, which is sort of the case of DJD's character, but Cate is actually having an affiar with a student. And oh, btw, Jess, I looked on IMDB, and he really is like 17 in real life! Crazy! But yeah, the movie was good, but when I got home I had to watch an episode of Fraiser just to get the creepy-vibes out. I actually wonder how often that happens, that teachers and students have affairs. I mean, considering I can name like three instances from my school, well one for sure, I don't actually know if the Krigas stuff if true...but that one history teacher for sure thought she was back in high school, and it was weird. Like get over yourself lady, you are here to make a difference, not make out with the popular boys. Seriously. But I wonder if there ever could be a study developed, because who would admit that they were sleeping with a student. Hmmm...
Anyways, yesterday I went out with the fam for Beth's graduation from Pharmacy School! We went to David's Bistro in Des Plaines. It was quite delicious. When I got home I planned on watching The Queen, you know to make it a British movie weekend, but fell asleep, so I plan on doing that tonight. But then this morning/afternoon, I met Jess and Rocco at the dog part in Lincon Park, and then we went to Sweet Mandy B's for some deeeelicious cupcakes and cookie sandwich with buttercreme frosting. OMG it was so good. On my way home, I bought really cute ballet flats that are red with white polka dots. I heart them. I got them at the Pink Frog on Belmont, but just the one that has shoes. There were some cute silver flats that I feel like I need to go back and get. I am having obsessions with flats, in case you can't tell!
Alrighty, well would catch up on tv but since its Sunday, I will just wait until this week. But can I just tell you that Peter P. on Heroes...with the scar on his face? Hot. I was never really a huge fan of his until this show. I never really liked Jess all that much on Gilmore Girls. Mostly because I thought it was weird that Luke likes Lorelai and Jess like Rory and they were all related, well Jess being Luke's nephew and Lor/Rory being mother and daughter. Plus I loved Dean. LOVED. I wish I watched Supernatural, but I already have too many shows on Thursday.
In other sadder news, my Great Aunt Rose passed away. She was 101! For real! She lived a great life though! Still had all her own teeth. That's pretty damn amazing! Here's to Great Aunt Rose!
Steph.
