A hall of records, or numbers, or spaces still undone...

Howdy. So lets see...trying to be good about updating this thing, but I am so boring these days. I'm trying to think of something to write about that's not tv. Oh, how about fashion. I am still on my quest for Chanel ballet flats. I heart them. Uh, I guess that's all I have about fashion at the moment haha.

I know! Tonight after work I am meeting Melissa and Britta for dinner so we can catch up and also discuss Love Your Body Day, which was started by NOW (the national chapter in DC), and is in October. Last year we did an essay contest/open mic night to celebrate...the theme being "The First Time I Felt Beautiful." This year we are doing the same but extending it to artists as well. And we want a new theme...any ideas? Something along the lines of loving your body, obviously. We are hitting up the same high schools as last year as well as a few new ones. I think it will be great, and hopefully we will get even more submissions than last year, now that we have extended it to art as well. And the open mic night was awesome. I am so in awe of people who can go up there and do that sort of thing and just generally be all-around fantastic.

Okay, well anyways, tomorrow is Amanda's b-day and for lunch I am meeting her, MM, EC, and AO at Park Grill and then heading to the burbs to get stuff done for my sister's engagement partay! Then Sunday Tracey and Dave and JOSHUA are having a party! I am so excited to see him walk and hear him say "shoes." Once my sister and T move, I can start babysitting again cuz I can just sat at their house.

I am reading Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. It is really good. Like I don't want it to end, but I do because I want to know if she really did it or not and whatever. Then I may need to pick up a feminist book again. I've got a bunch waiting in my "to-be read" pile and need to get started!

Alrighty, back to work I suppose.

toodles.

We can be a sweet team melting in your vice dream...

Hola! Okay, after a brief hiatus, I am going to make a better effort to write more and entertain the 4 people (which is stretching it) who read this bad boy. Anyways...so um, lets see. Not too much going on...the next feminist event you all can volunteer at is our annual fundraiser Women Who Dared, which is on Thursday, September 27 at the Newberry Library. You can either volunteer or attend the event. Tickets are $75 or $40 for students. And if you know lots of people who want to come, you can be on our host committee, and then you get your name in the program! Wee!

So Market Days was a few weeks ago. It was awesome. I always have such a blast working the NOW booth! Then this past weekend I went to Bloomington, Ill., to visit my cousins and their little kids...both are so super cute I can't even stand it.

On to tv I guess! ROL is continuing to be the greatest trainwreck that ever trainwrecked. Good lord. Bret, word of advice, get rid of Lacey. Girl is craaaaazzzzy. Or so she seems. However, I am sure she is being kept around for ratings. But anyways, the show is great, and I can't wait for season 2, because ya'll know there will be a season 2.

The Hills started. I am so on Team Lauren. I love though, that last night, it was clear that Heidi's parents totally see through Spencer and his creepy vibes. And I am starting to like Brody Jenner. Yes, I said it. And I love Lo and Whitney. Please show more of them editors!

Prison Break Season 2 comes out on DVD September 4. I am sooo excited. Now I just need Veronica Mars season 3 and I am all set. And I still need to finish watching 24 from this past season. But I have until like January to do that. Oh so many shows! And so many new shows!

Okay, back to work.

Back in a jiffy!

I will be updating this more later this afternoon because I was told it is rude to have a blog and not update it. And it is. So stay tuned....

It's the Best of Both Worlds...

Finally finished Harry Potter! I won’t ruin the ending...but I liked it. I thought that she did a nice job of wrapping things up. Although, that book was pretty damn violent. I wonder if the younger folks reading the books are just in it for the magic aspect or if they too get into the relationships and stuff. I cried like 47 times.

CB’s wedding was on Saturday. It was beautiful. And luckily it didn’t start pouring (the ceremony was outside) until during dinner when we were all safely inside. She looked amazing. Like could be in InStyle Weddings. So congrats to the happy couple!

Lets see...didn’t go to Lollapolooza. I don’t do super crowded music events...especially when it’s really hot. Although I would have liked to see Mickey Avalon, Cold War Kids, and Juliet and the Licks, among others.

It is very humid today. And clearly I’ve got nothing better to talk about since I have resorted to talking about the weather!

Oh, volunteer at the NOW table at Market Days this weekend!! Biggest street fest in the US people!!

So Rock of Love...any watches? Oh my gawd, that show is a trainwreck, and I love every trashtastic moment of it. I am on the Jes/Sam/Brandi M. love train. Although Sam is going to get her heart broken if Bret doesn’t pick her. Oh and Heather, 1987 called, they want their hair style back. Seriously, what is up with that weirdo hair do? I mean I am all for bringing the 80s back, but not when you were actually able to wear the clothes/hair styles the first time around. I can’t wait to see what’s in this letter of hers next week. And what crazy Lacey will do. Famewhores at their best. I couldn’t love it more!!
