Doll you make them feel so small...and they love it

This is going to be a short rant.

Ahem, so you know what I hate? When tall, skinny, blonde (or any hair color really) girls wear short skirts and complain that they haaaaate their skinny chicken legs. Like OMG look at my skinny skinny legs aren't they horrible?! Seriously. Shut it. You are tall and skinny. I would give anything to at least have thin legs and run around in shorts and skinny jeans all the time. Yes, I am aware I am being superficial. But its annoying. We get it. You are tall and pretty and have shiny hair (although to be honest and shallow, I do have nice hair) and you have long legs and can wear short skirts and all the boys love you and your legs. Way to make the rest of us shorties with normal legs feel bad and have to write blog posts about them and feel bad that they aren't loving their bodies because really we all should love our bodies. But whatever. As much as I heart all things pop culture, I blame celebrities, Kiera Knightly I'm talking about you, for complaining that their negative zero size frame is the biggest in Hollywood. Please.

On a non-skinny girl bobble head note...how great has Mariah been looking! Yay for curves!

That was tiring.

Haha whatever, you know you love me!

HMF...wishing she could really be Gossip Girl. Hmmm maybe I should start one of all the socialites in Chicago. How would I go about that...anyone know? Thanks!

Never was a cornflake girl...

Fall tv is back in action...and so is HMF's wonderful witty (or whitty) reviews. So let's begin, shall we?

Gossip Girl. Haven't read the books, but really want too. It was good! I love high school dramas about rich kids in Manhattan! And Kelly Ruthaford as the divorced 3 times Stepford. Seriously. Everyone on that show is pretty. And the clothes are awesome. And I can't wait to get knock offs at H&M. And yes, at heart I am still 17...however, they all dress amazing. Oh, and love love love Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) as the VO otherwise known as Gossip Girl. Haha "you know you love me...xoxo." I need to start signing my posts like that. So, Josh Schwartz, I am totally stealing that from you. But anyways, I feel like the show may take some sort of sinister turn...which is always a delight.

Models. Oh Tyra and the Jays...how I have missed you. There is one girl from Chicago this cycle...Ebony. And watch out ya'll cuz she is fierce. And a bitch. And her momma is a crack head. My words, not hers. I love that Tyra pushes these girls to tell their most intimate issues. Like what does that have to do with modelling? I mean do we know anything about Giselle, Adriana Lima, or Karolina Kourkova (I am aware I spelled all of those way wrong, will fix later). No, we don't. But since it was just the audition show, it's too soon for me to have an opinions on these girls. I like the Yale girl. And Heather. And the "normal girl" model. She's not quite plus size but not quite regular model. Oy.

I know that there were other new shows on this week, but I am still behind on Prison Break, so it might be a while until I get to that. ROL is almost over...I hope Heather wins. Maybe the spoiler is a big fake out! So glad that crazy Lacey is gone. Dale is in the finale on Top Chef! Yay for him! I would be happy with any of the final four winning.

In other news, lots of NOW events coming up in October. So there will be more on that. And hopefully some sort of action will be taken and Planned Parenthood will be able to remain in Aurora.

More later!

Against Abortion? Don't Have One!

Okay, getting down to business. People of Aurora...if you are going to proclaim your stance on abortion, at least get the term right. It's "anti-choice" not "pro-life." I may be pro-choice, but I am also pro-life, in the sense that, I love life, who doesn't. And loving life and being for life has nothing to do with reproductive freedom. Basically, you are anti-choice because you are trying to tell women what they can or can't do with their bodies. It's not okay. A woman's choice to get an abortion has nothing to do with you. And trying to keep Planned Parenthood out of your town is ridiculous. It's not just an abortion clinic. It's where women (and men!) can go to get cheaper birth control, annual exams, and the like. And keeping it out of your town won't actually keep abortions out of your town. Women will go elsewhere or they will try drastic measures. Yes, I know, it's hard to believe, but they might.

If you are so against abortion...then don't have one, but don't tell other women what they can or can't do. It's not fair, and it's not your choice. So remember folks...help keep a woman's right to choose safe and legal! Support Planned Parenthood!

Don't need nuthin...but good time...

So you don't know how much I wish that this was a post coming from NY's Fashion Week...oh how I wish I was there. Well anyways, from what I have learned from the Fug Girls, Clive Owen is the hottest man ever, Miss Sixty is still into skinny jeans, BCBG had really awesome platform pumps, and little Kingston Stefani Rossdale stole the L.A.M.B. show.

Anyways...so its the weekend...I'm at work for a few more then meeting up with Melissa for manicures and mailings and perhaps some first season of Bones. Or maybe season 2 of Prison Break...if I can convince her. Oh and pizza. We are mailing LYBD letters out to high schools. Then tomorrow is Amy's wedding! Now that I have my new camera, I will hopefully be able to post some pictures and spice things up over at the HMF blog. Cuz really, I need some cool images on this thing. Too bad I don't live in LA and am not friends with the Cobrasnake et al. But either way, hopefully pictures will be here soon.

So here is my quick beef. Paris Hilton. We all love to hate her and find ourselves saying "that's hot" (I used quote marks so please don't sue me!!) once in a while. Anyways, I read an article she did in some magazine about how she wants a guy and a kid and is getting her body ready to have a baby next year so that she will be ready. Um, okay, so does she just wake up and think, I want to have babies just like Nicole and poof, she will get one? Do these starlets know that a child is not a prop and that millions (actually I don't know the real statistic) of women in the world can't have children due to various reasons and would do anything to have one, and Paris makes a statement and I mean, we all know that next year she will be preggers. My money is on some sort of Greek shipping heir being the baby daddy.

Alrighty, enjoy the weekend my fabulous readers.

tata! :)

Step by step...oooh baby....gonna get to you girrrrrrl....

Some things I did this weekend: Went to a BBQ, went thifting (more on that later), had minnie sandwiches, got new shoes, went to a party, watched a movie. Not necessarily in that order though.

The engagement party was fun! All the kids were super cute. And my cucumber sandwiches were a hit! I can now make mature/grown up party food. Go me. haha Next time I need to make those oyster/goat cheese things that Tracey had at her party. Devine. Well, for those of you that like goat cheese and oysters. Anyways, and yeah, Tracey's party was fun too! Joshers was sleeping though cuz he was sick. Poor baby. But I hopefully will be babysitting soon! He can walk now! And his favorite word is shoe! So cute that child.

Anywho, so yeah, got some fabulous new heels. And then went to Land of the Lost and got a vintage Guns 'n' Roses shirt, a vintage NKOTB shirt, two pairs of awesome vintage sunglasses (one pair is totally 80s and fluorescent colors), and a sweet 70s jewelry box. I tried on a pair of Wrangler bell bottoms, but alas, they did not fit over my large booty. But that is my next quest. I want a pair of vintage bell bottoms. And I still want those Chanel shoes. But really, the shirts I got a quite cool, and I can't wait to bust them out!

Last night I watched the movie Perfume. I have read the book so was curious to see the movie. It has Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman in it, and was really good. Great cinematography. And the actor who plays Jean-Baptiste was fantastic. It sort of followed the book--same themes and stuff, but some stuff was cut out, which was fine because I actually thought that it worked better in the movie.

Prison Break season 2 is out today!! Booyah!

Oh and I am still liking Brody on The Hills. LOVED when he called Spencer a little bitch. And loved when Jenn Bunney called Heidi out on her BS.

And ROL? Where do I even begin. I love Jes but think that Heather is a way better match for Bret. Was the tattoo she got real? Others are pointing out that it wasn't even red afterwards. So could have all been for drama sake. Oh producers. Not funny.
